"The unexamined life is not worth living."
Socrates
Changes in work or relationships are good opportunities
to redefine yourself. They're important times to change
old habits, reactions or how you come across to others.
There's no law that says you have to stay stuck in old patterns
or ways of being perceived by other people.
The emotional earthquake of the elimination of our job
or the breakup of an important relationship offer chances
for us to learn how to handle things better in the future
or re-set our sights to play for higher stakes in our life.
A period of insecurity or threat can be a good time to stop
and take stock of where you have been heading in your life,
to reconsider whether that is what you really want for you.
Use the end of a relation to weigh what you want in a mate,
or use unemployment to consider a lifestyle or career change.
Re-define yourself or what you most want for your life,
or re-engineer your career to change or add to what you offer
in order to become more valuable or secure in the future.
If you want to get different results in your life,
you have to do something different.
What about you or your life would you like to Redefine?
