As an employee, an imbalance of power exists between us and our employers.
It is almost always less threatening for them to lose us than vice versa.
They're much more secure than we are. The reason why is that they diversify--
they create more than one income stream.
We need to diversify, too, in order to help correct the imbalance between us.
Diversifying our skills helps strengthen our sense of ourselves. We "get free"
to be true to ourselves rather than having to follow someone else's marching orders.
So whether you work inside or outside of a company, continually try to diversify,
to broaden your income stream sources.
