Timelining Tool

"Our time is the one thing that can never be retrieved.
Procrastination is the thief of time."
C. R. Lawton

Whenever you're having trouble getting started on something,
one tool that can help you is called Timelining. To use it, just
take a sheet of paper and write down some step you could do
in the next small bit of time, say in the next ten minutes.

On that sheet, list the `peg points' for some short time period.
Thus, if it's nine o'clock, you might write: 9:00-2-4-6-8-9:10.
As the minutes pass, draw a bold line through the time.
If 9:10 comes and you haven't done the work,
repeat the process. Rewrite your objective and write:
9:10-12-14-16-18-9:20. If needed, do it again from 9:20 to 9:30
and so on. This will force you to focus your attention on it
until you get it done.
