"There is a
divinity that shapes our ends, rough-hew them how we will."
Shakespeare
Self-sabotage is simply a signal from life telling us that we're going in some wrong
direction and
need to make a course correction if we want a happier life.
The degree to which we get the signals that life sends us determines the degree to which
we find life
pleasing or painful, fulfilling or frustrating. If we want our lives to go better, then we
need to heed its
messages.
Because it's placed insecurities inside us that get scared when we're getting out of
balance, nature seems willing to let us live our life on whatever level and to play for
whatever stakes we choose. And
because it has its laws and principles to teach us, life can afford to be a patient
teacher, because we
are all a part of nature, and nature always wins.
The key to contentment is getting in sync with whatever life wants for us. That
means looking
for signals as to where life seems to want us to go. When we do that, then everything in
our life
becomes a mystery trip, an experiment or learning adventure that can teach us something
about
where life wants us to go next.
When we come to accept that pleasure and pain are nature's way of sending us a message, we
no longer see them in the same way. Instead, when we feel pain, we say to ourselves,
"Yes, I'm hurting. So I must not be getting some important message. Let me slow down
here and see what messages
I've been missing."
